CWF Elects Whitehorse Resident as Board President

June 19, 2009

The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is proud to announce the election of Mr. Larry Leigh as CWF Board President.

Mr. Leigh has held various roles on the executive of the CWF Board over the past 16 years and will be officially sworn in as president in a meeting of CWF members this Saturday June 13, 2009.

The CWF Board is responsible for setting the guiding policy of CWF – Canada’s largest non-governmental, non-profit conservation organization, representing more than 300,000 members from across the country.

“Larry’s extensive environmental experience and passion for conservation make him ideally suited to lead CWF into the next phase of our important work,” said Wade Luzny, CWF Executive Vice-President. “The CWF works with Canadians from coast to coast to create something very important — a brighter future for Canada’s wildlife.”

Mr. Leigh has committed his attention and career to wildlife throughout his life. “Wildlife makes you develop a value system. We can’t afford to take it for granted,” says Leigh. He teaches youth outdoor safety and survival, wildlife identification and outdoor ethics in Whitehorse, Yukon where he lives with his wife Donna.
