“The Canadian Wildlife Foundation provides funding for wildlife habitat conservation and the wise use of wildlife resources in Canada,” said Wade Luzny, Executive Vice President of the Canadian Wildlife Federation, which created the foundation. “By supporting the innovation and initiative of community groups, scientists and educators from across this country, we are working together to help ensure healthy wildlife populations and a stronger environmental ethic among Canadians.”
The Canadian Wildlife Foundation distributes funding to registered charitable non-profit organizations for wildlife and habitat conservation initiatives. Students submitting applications must provide the charitable registration number of the university they are affiliated with. Priority is given to Canadian-based programs and research. Awards generally range from $2,500 - $10,000 per project. The deadlines for submissions are Mar. 1 and Sept. 1.
The Canadian Wildlife Foundation is a charitable organization established by the Canadian Wildlife Federation in 1987 and dedicated to the belief that the renewable natural resources of Canada are economic, social, recreational, and aesthetic assets that must be restored, wisely used, and perpetuated for posterity. The Canadian Wildlife Foundation Board of Trustees is responsible for evaluating applications and making funding decisions.
