National Wildlife Week

Visit The Canadian Wildlife Federation's website "National Wildlife Week" online at: www.NationalWildlifeWeek.org

National Wildlife Week is celebrated each year during the week surrounding April 10, the birthday of Jack Miner, one of the founders of Canada’s conservation movement. Proclaimed an act of Parliament in 1947, NWW is a time to celebrate Canada’s natural heritage and play an active role in conservation. Our goal is to highlight an important theme, and spread the word to Canadians through educational resources, posters, and awareness. It’s easy to forget that we’re all connected by our actions in one way or another; that species rely on vegetation in one region, which is affected by the watershed of another region, and those watersheds are affected by the people and lifestyle upstream. So we want to spread the word about our national wildlife and help everyone to appreciate and protect our gifts of nature!

This Years Theme: Pollination

Listen carefully. It can happen under the cover of night or in broad daylight. It can happen in the deep, dark forest or wide, open fields. It is one of the most important biological processes on our planet, yet it remains a mystery to many. Now it’s time to expose one of the great secrets in the private lives of plants ... pollination! Check out our resources and facts at NationalWildlifeWeek.org today!
