Climate Change

Climate change is already having an impact on wildlife. Species worldwide are shifting their ranges, migrating sooner and bearing young earlier than in the past. American robins and red-winged blackbirds frequently arrive on their breeding grounds weeks before they once did. Over the next 50 years Canadians will see dramatic changes in the forests and wildlife they take for granted as average temperatures and precipitation change. Reducing our carbon emissions will help set an example for the world and reduce the future impacts of climate change. The Climate Change Program focuses on three key areas:
- Using Habitat Restoration and Conservation to Store Carbon
- Planning for Wildlife Adaptation to Climate Change
- Advocating for Strong Carbon Emission Reduction Targets for Canada
