Project WILD and/or Below Zero Certified Educator – has attended an introductory workshop, received the guides and is certified to use them in his/her respective school/organization/community. To become Project Wild/Below Zero certified, you must enroll in an introductory workshop;

Introductory workshop

Introductory workshop is a prerequisite to be Project WILD/Below Zero certified and is therefore the most popular one. The main audience at workshops is certified school teachers, but non-formal educators (e.g. scout, camp & other community leaders) also often take part in these workshops as well.

There are two types of introductory workshops: a six-hour session or an integrated eight-hour session. A six-hour workshop covers one manual – either Project Wild or Below Zero – and an eight-hour workshop covers both. The workshop is delivered by a WILD Education facilitator (CWF staff member, resource person, educator, or youth group leader) who showcases a variety of activities from each manual and teaches participants how to use the guides to their full potential.

At a workshop each participant receives one or two guides, resource materials, and a certificate of completion.

$45.00
(plus tax) for the six-hour session
$65.00 (plus tax) for the eight-hour session. .
The above prices are for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.

Program materials can only be obtained at workshops.

  Workshops

At CWF we believe that the workshop method is the best approach for implementing WILD Education program. A WILD Education workshop is unique in that participants learn from expert facilitators how to use the guides and other resources to their fullest potential. Participants also get hands on experience in learning how to run and adapt the activities to their curriculum and instructional settings such as classrooms, outdoor centers, urban environments, or any place where people are interested in learning about wildlife and its habitat.

Please contact your provincial coordinator if you would like to register for a workshop.
