What Does a Body Tell Us?

Students will experience the advantages and disadvantages of two major fish body shapes in a role-play/relay race, predict the effects of different colour patterns on a fish's ability to hide and test that prediction against habitat backdrops that they create.

For Saskatchewan Educators:

Substitute the Big Mouth Buffalo, a vulnerable species, for the Pumpkinseed, a freshwater fish not found in Saskatchewan. 

Refer to the Fish Species of Saskatchewan booklet in lieu of the "Fish of Ontario" poster.
