What is a WILD Education workshop?
A WILD Education workshop is a unique experience that will put dynamic resources into your hands and will show you how to use them with your learners, whether they are in a formal classroom, an organized youth group, a park, or even a homeschool environment.
WILD Education workshops feature one of our many educational programs, which all aim to teach students about Canadian wildlife and conservation.  To learn about each of these programs, from the ever-popular Project WILD to the winter-themed Below Zero and everything in between, please visit the Programs section of our site.

Who gives the workshops?
Workshops are led by a facilitator, who is a specially-trained educator.  Educators who have taken a WILD Education workshop and have applied the programs are eligible for facilitator training.  If you are interested, let us know!

How long is a workshop?
A single workshop usually lasts about six hours.  Occasionally a workshop can feature two programs.  In such cases, the workshop lasts at least eight hours.

How much does a workshop cost?
The basic cost for a single workshop is $45.  In cases where two programs are offered together, the cost is $65.  This price includes tuition, a curriculum-fit textbook full of activities, and a selection of CWF resources, such as learning posters.  Participants also receive a certificate of completion and are invited to join our educators’ network to receive additional free resources.  The cost of some workshops may vary if lunch and other amenities are included as part of the workshop experience.

What exactly happens at a workshop?
Workshop agendas vary according to facilitators, but the goal is to give participants a chance to experiment with a sample of activities representative of the WILD Education program featured at the workshop.

What if there are no workshops in my area?
We constantly update our online workshop list as new workshops are approved, so check back frequently.  If you would like to see a WILD Education workshop take place in your school or community, let us know.  We keep track of participant interest and often dispatch a facilitator to an area where there is an expressed desire for this experience.
