After sitting on the board for 16 years, Larry Leigh will become the new president of the Canadian Wildlife Federation in June, 2009. He’s committed his attention and career to wildlife throughout his life. “Wildlife makes you develop a value system. We can’t afford to take it for granted,” says Leigh. He teaches youth outdoor safety and survival, wildlife identification and outdoor ethics in Whitehorse, Yukon. He has also been involved with many successful fish stocking and mountain goat transplant projects as well as sheep surveys and river clean up initiatives.
