CWF’s action and awareness programs provide a variety of opportunities for all Canadians to actively participate in wildlife conservation. Educators, senior citizens, community groups, and individuals share our vision to ensure a healthy and sustainable future for Canada’s wildlife.
Backyard Habitat — Inspires thousands of Canadians to initiate wildlife projects right in their own backyards.
Canadian Conservation Achievement Awards Program
Each year countless Canadians demonstrate their commitment to wildlife conservation through active involvement. Check them out or nominate someone you know.
Funding Program — Each year the CWF provides financial assistance to many conservation research efforts that will benefit wildlife in the future. This section includes the Orville Erickson Memorial Scholarship, which provides assistance to post-secondary students in the field of conservation.
Hinterland Who's Who — This program offers in-depth descriptions of wildlife, discussions on issues, actions that you can take to help wildlife, and educational materials that teachers and group leaders can use.
National Wildlife Week — This inspirational celebration takes place in the week surrounding April 10, the birth date of the late Jack Miner, a founder of Canada’s conservation movement.
Oceans Day — No matter where you live in Canada you have an impact on an ocean — celebrate Oceans Day, June 8.
WILD Education — A growing family of innovative wildlife conservation educator programs is used by more than 100,000 Canadian educators.
