Thank you for supporting the Canadian Wildlife Federation Walk for Wildlife. By participating, you are not only getting outside and enjoying the incredible wildlife Canada has to offer, you’re also supporting CWF’s species-at-risk conservation initiatives, including the burrowing owl.

The staff here at CWF want to help you reach or surpass your fundraising goal. Below you will find some tips and tools you can use to reach your milestones. Whether you are fundraising by yourself or with a team, it’s easy to get started!

CUSTOMIZE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE

Visit your Participant Centre and customize your fundraising page with videos, photos and personal stories. Share with others why you are walking for wildlife.

SET A GOAL

When you register, set a fundraising goal and share with others. Creating a goal helps incent others and yourself to reach it.

HOST A WALK

Host a walk for your club, work, family or friends. Visit "Host a Walk" to learn how easy it is. When you host a walk, you can invite others to participate and get outside. Make sure to let your network know about your walk!

JOIN A WALK

There are many walks already happening across Canada. Visit the Participant Centre and search for a walk in your area. Make sure to let your network know about your walk!

SHARE YOUR WALK

Let your network know on Facebook, Twitter or email that you are walking for wildlife. Your Participant Centre has share functions that easily let your share with one click. The more you let people know you are walking, the more support you will get!

ASK FOR SUPPORT

Don’t be afraid to ask! No donation is too small. Send out e-mails, change your e-mail signature or post a sign at work. Let people know and ask them for support. If they donate to your fundraising page, they will also get a tax receipt!

GET YOUR WORK INVOLVED

Let your coworkers know you’re walking for wildlife. Organize a walk at your office or find out if your company will match the donations raised. Use the Participant Centre to collect cash donations.

USE YOUR PARTICIPANT CENTRE

Your Participant Centre is full of tools, customized stationary, e-mails and share tools. Visit it often and use it!

TAKE A SELFIE IN NATURE

Capture yourself on your Walk for Wildlife with a selfie in nature. Use #WalkForWildlife to share with your friends and followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media. Post it on your fundraising page and the Walk for Wildlife Facebook page. It’s a great way to entertain and help get some pledges!
